Royal Society Research Grant awarded

27 March 2011

The Spoel Research Group is awarded a Royal Society Research Grant for a project titled: "Redox Defence: towards a sustainable protection strategy against plant disease."

Plants continuously cope with disease causing agents by launching immune responses. Immunity is critically regulated by changes in the cellular redox status. For this grant we will develop the use of redox-mediated defences for improving crop disease resistance.
